Extractions are the process of removing a tooth from its socket in the bone. When this occurs, patients require surgical implantation of metal posts into the jaw to stabilize it and provide the needed support for restorations. For patients who are not candidates for traditional implants because of insufficient bone, bone grafting is required prior to implant surgery to increase bone mass and prepare the site for the successful placement of an implant post.
